Management delle strade di interesse regionale in Lombardia

Abstract

The goal is to create a model of management and maintenance of the road infrastructure network of regional interest, in case the Province road network had been transferred to Lombardy Region. The opportunity to extend the existing Regional infrastructure by including provincial networks, comes from the possibility given to Lombardy Region by the new Codice della Strada, Decreto Legislativo 30 aprile 1992 n. 285, to acquire such provincial networks. The action programme, aimed at enhancing the activities undertaken by European Union’s member states, , is mainly based on the following parameters: increase the road users awareness to improve their behavior and develop the observance of legislation; make vehicles safer; improve road infrastructure by identifying and correcting the problems. Focused on this last point "improving road infrastructure" the study proposed by Infrastrutture Lombarde S.p.A. want to show the current situation and possible future evolution of the concept of virtuous management of roads.
